West End Grand Bahama, Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas Check out Map
West End is known for their great reef fishing along the Little Bahama Bank. The fishing is located along the leading edge of the reefs that drop to deeper ocean allowing for a healthy supply of fish species. The settlement is a quaint fishing village where many locals make their living from the sea. The nearby areas that are frequented include - Indian Cay, Wood Cay and Sandy Cay where the fish can be found among the reefs and coral heads. Heading further North to Memory Rock is an active area for a variety of bottom fishing including - Lane Snappers, Strawberry Hind, Mutton Snappers and Yellowtails. Trolling this region is not for the faint of heart due to the distance from shore - about 18 miles. Most of the fishing near to shore is done with a hand line (YoYo) or Trolling for a Mackerel, Butter Jack, Grouper, Barracuda and Yellowtails. All fishing gear and bait is provided. Guests are provided with a Gimble while trolling for a comfortable fit while bringing in the big fish! Refreshments are available on board as well.
